Friday, free practice
Working half day meant that I only had time to do the last session. I had installed new brake rotors and pads and just wanted to check that everyting was OK. Everything worked fine with just minor adjustments to the brake balance.
Saturday, qualifying
The track was still wet from overnight rain and the foggy conditions didn't help to dry the track. Half worn tyres is my excuse for just setting 3rd time overall some 3 tenths behind Anders Flodegård who set the fastest time.
Saturday, Race 1
A good start from 3rd along with the fact that Anders missed his start meant that I was first through the first corner. Anders challanged for the lead on the first lap but I managed to hold on to first. After that it was an easy ride to victory. Won by 9sek.
Sunday, Race 2
Again a good start from this time pole, Anders managed to get past on the 2nd lap but I took the lead again later on lap 2. Atte stuffed his car into the tyres on lap 3 and there was a safety car period for 4 laps. I got a good restart and won by 7 seconds.
This was the last race for me this season. Now I will concentrate to finish the Lotus 61 in time for the 2011 season.
2010-06-26: Velodromloppet
Friday, free practice
Two sessions, first session was wet and I just tried to familiarise myself with the car as it was the first time I sat in it this year.
Second session was almost dry and the times got reasonable getting just under the time I set last year with Atte's Hawke DL2a (1.13.7)
Saturday, qualifying
Track was damp and dried out quickly at the end making it necessary to set the best time at the last lap. I managed to get a decent lap and got 2nd
best time.
Saturday, Race 1
The track was dry until we lined up and with no time to alter the setup and since I was stuck with a dry setup it was a case of staying on the track and not make any mistakes.
I got a good start as the pole sitter, Per missed it completely and I was first through the fist bend. On the 2nd lap I got passed by Pentti and managed to stay with him until lap seven when he went off and got stuck in the gravel trap.
However 1st place only lasted until the next lap as I got passed by Per who had got up to speed. I managed a second place at the end.
Sunday, Race 2
Finally a dry race. I got a good start and was once again first into the first corner. After half a lap Per out braked himself and went off. The rest of the race was a matter of staying focused and Pentti in second did not really get an opportunity to challenge for the lead.
I managed to set the Best lap time at 1:12.64 and finished 0.8 sec ahead of Pentti.
2010-05-23: Progress again
Finally I have managed to make something with the Lotus. The have finished all the wishbones. The Setrab oilcooler that I found in their calalouge and was the correct size for the car wasn't available unless you ordered 10 of them so I bought a std 10row Mocal which I cut of the ears from but I still had to make a bulge in the bodywork to accomondate it.
