16-18 September Falkenberg Classic
Final race in the RHK Cup at Falkenberg, two pole positions and two bad starts resulted in two second places but fastest lap times. This was the last event for 2011 except for the price giving that was held at Hotel Wettern in Karlsborg. I got the price for best in class along with 2nd place overall in the RHK Cup 2011.

27-28 August Våler, Norway
Friday, Nice weather and free practice with 2 groups alternating 15min each from 12 to 17.00 meant a lot of testing. I ran on the old tyres just to get a lot of laps. It was even time to test Per's VD RF86 and Björn's Merlyn MK20A, I think that Per's car needs some work on its ergonomics and Björn some work on its handling and brakes. It was great fun to test some other Formula Ford to get an idea of what the others are running and at the same time getting some feedback on my car.
Saturday, Qualifying, some rain just before the qualifying meant treacherous conditions but I still managed to get pole, but just by 0.025sek ahead Victor and 0.77 ahead of Anders.
Race 1 again a shower just before the race but this time the track managed to dry a bit so it was part dry. I took the lead at the start. Victor passed me on lap 2 and I re took the lead just to be passed again a couple of laps later. Chasing Victor on to the finishing straight I made a mistake an put a wheel out on the wet part of the track and spun. I still managed to grab 2nd as Anders had made a similar mistake and was a bit behind.
Sunday, Race 2 This time the track was almost dry and as I had the fastest time in race 1 I started from pole. I took the start and managed to hold on to it throughout the race with Anders 2nd just 0.4sek behind.
Next race will be the final at Falkenberg on 16-18 Sept

8-10 July SSM Knutstorp
Best venue of the season with about 270 cars in 13 different heats. Knutstorp is a natural amphitheatre in Skåne with good facilities.
Friday free practice and qualifying went well. Qualifying was wet and I got pole buy one second ahead of newcomer Victor Ljungdahl.
Saturday Race 1
Someone made a false start and it took a long time before the red lights went out. This meant that my clutch was dragging and the car started to creep forward. As I tried to move my foot to the brake the lights went green and I was caught with too low revs. But the reaction was good so I managed to be first through the first corner. The rest of the race was just a matter of keeping the pace up and not making any mistakes. Pia and Marcus did the sports car "rally" with her Miata. The rally started in Eslöv and was about 100km of small winding roads following a road book to answer questions and doing some tasks along the way. They managed 6th among 170 sports cars that all showed up at the track to make a nice display of cars.
Sunday Race 2
Pole position and another bad start, usual revs but too much grip made for a slow getaway and Anders Flodegård was just behind me through the first corner. I got a gap of a couple of car lengths during the first lap. The distance stayed the same for a couple of laps until someone went off and I had to slow down a bit and Anders was once again just behind me. After about half the race his gear linkage broke and it was an easy ride to the finish and another victory. Anders best lap was just 0.1 sec slower than my best. So the opposition is getting closer.
18-19 June Velodromloppet
Saturday Race 1
Qualifying meant another pole and that was good as I avoided the mayhem that occurred behind me at the start. Victor didn't get off the line and was hit from behind by Leif. Leif rolled and landed upside down on Atte's rear suspension. Leif's car was badly damaged and Atte's Hawke and Victor's Van Diemen was out for the rest of the weekend. I made another good start at the restart of the race and pushed to get a gap as it looked as it would start to rain. However the rain never came and I cruised to an easy win.

Sunday race 2
Another uneventful race and another win for me
2011-06-22:
The gearbox is finally back with it's diff in place after much trouble. Now It has a Mk8 diff with new sideplates from Taylor Race Engineering. Everything seams to line up fine. I can now make the final adjustments on the Toyota (Nippon Denso) starter. It's a thight fit and it's nice to get a gear reduction starter and save a few pounds over the Lucas unit. I can also start the fabrication of the exhaust syatem. The manifold have arrived from Peter Denty and looks the part eaven if its a thight fit against the upper chassis rail. The wheels is back from sand blasting and painting, I specified silver but they came back som silver/grey colour that I think looks really 60's.
2011-05-23:
First race of the year! Since the Lotus is still not ready I had to race the RF85 again. Friday practice was promising with good times on old tyres. Qualifying was a bit of a disappointment since I was slower than in the free practice but I still managed to get pole by 2.55 sec so perhaps it wasn't too bad of a time anyway.
The first race was wet and I fitted the new tyres and everything went according to plan with a win by 19s over second placed Niklas in his Reynard 89.
Niklas cracked the gearbox casing and did not start on Sunday. However Alf who had had a lot of problems during the weekend with his RF89 (collision with a F-Vee on Friday) was just 1 second behind in his best lap time. However I still had a margin of 24.5 sec to him in the dry conditions.
Everything worked fine this weekend except for a flat spot around 6000 rpm that I can't find.
I think I have all the parts for the Lotus now. I have received a 4-2-1 exhaust Manifold from Peter Denty. The suspension parts have all been plated and the Lotus Cortina wheels are back from sand blasting and painting.
2011-03-01:
Finally I have made a dummy build on the chassis components, everything seems to fit well and I will send the parts away for plating soon. I have fitted the attachment points to the seat and it just needs some sanding before painting.
