Goodwood Revival
After 23 hours and 1600km non stop driving we finally arrived at Goodwood just outside Chichester in Enngland. The event have grown massivly since our last visit in 2005, now to an impressive 148 000 spectators!
Jörgen hoped to finish in the top half of the field in his Merlyn MK3 Formula Junior in the Chichester cup. Ater the qualifying it was clear that a lot of very fast drivers both from the Lurani tophy and the english series where present and it would be a togh job to get into the top half, Jörgen was plesed with his performance as hi did not push to hard to spoil all the fun and finished 24th.
Pia and Theo arrived on thursday and we all had an absoulutelty lovely weekend at the Goodwood Revival meeting.
Some film clips from the races can be found on the official site

Nostalgia Racing Days Mantorp
The event was a restart of historic racing at Mantorp Park which celebrated 45years and MK Skandia which celebrated 60years! I had not raced there since 2006 so it was nice to be back.
Two practice sessions on friday and I got time to familiarise myself to the track and dial out some of the under steer that I had. I never got down to the times I did in 2006 but perhaps the conditions where not the same.
During the qualifying session the engine did not run cleanly and I only managed 5th place on the grid on the damp track.
For the first race on saturday it was wet and I had checked the engine over and swapped plugs and it ran fine again during the formation lap. I made a decent start gaining one place and I started to pursue the others, I passed Anders Flodegård (RF85) and to my fortune he spun behind me so I could concentrate on the racers ahead. I soon was on Victors tail and saw Oscar (RF86) disappearing in front. Oscar received a drive through penalty for jumping the start so it was down to Victor (RF89) and me. We had a very tight race and swapped places several times. On the second to last corner leading to the final lap I slightly overdid it and spun off an hit the tyre barrier, end of race. The damage was restricted to a broken wishbone, rocker, CV-joint and upright but since all my spares was 300km away it was end of the weekend for me.
For the sunday race the weather was sunny and dry again and I for once had the opportunity to watch "my" heat as a spectator, The guys had a good battle and the best fight was for third place with Henry (RF79), Tommy (RP29) and Håkan RF87 battling it out only for Henry to take third,

Svenskt Sportvagnsmeeting Knutstorp
For the SSM I had rented my car to Max Carlsson who had taken an interest to formula Ford. After some years in a Porsche 944 club racer he had decided he wanted to try a single seater. Friday test session he progressed well and we focused on adjusting the driving position rather than altering the setup of the car.
Max did make good progress in is first FF event and qualified 5th
During the first race he made a good start and was embarrassing Björn Otterberg in his Merlyn MK20A until the coolant temp exceeded 105 deg C which was our maximum.
For the second race I had sealed the nose against the radiator and bled the system and it was now OK but still high. Max did manage to beat Björn and finished 4th overall with a very respectable time of 1:06.49 Not bad at all for his 5th session in the car!
Victor was in a class of his on as I struggled with unde steer and I had an uneventful event with my RF85 finishing 2nd behind Victor (RF89) well clear of 3rd place Sören (SF89).

Velolodromloppet
Friday, the organizers did only manage to get 2x15min practice in during the whole day which is bad, however with 12 heats I guess that there isn't room for more.
Atte managed to spin and slightly hit the armco during the first session in the wet and spent most of the day repairing his Hawke.
I just tried to familiarize myself with the RF85 and scrub of the old tyres and making sure that everything worked during Friday.
I managed to get pole with 0.068s ahead of Victor despite the old tyres.
I did a decent start and as Björn Otterberg almost spun at the first corner I managed to get a small lead from the rest and then Victor stopped with a broken throttle cable I thought it would be an easy race.
Then someone put oil on the track making it very tricky, Oscar Thim came closer and closer by every lap and was soon challenging for the lead. On the last lap I had say 4 car lengths advantage on the main straight and did not see the point in taking a defensive line so I went for the race line only to go off in the oil.
I finished 2nd after rejoining from my little excursion.
2nd race on Sunday was clean sailing from start to finish winning the race.
During the Saturday dinner I recieved the Ronnie Peterson honorary Award a smaller copy of the statue in Örebro, that is given every year to a RHK member that is:
"An ambassador for historic racing, understands the individuality of historic racing and shows this both on the track and in the paddock"

Knutstorp Revival
The idea to create a mini Goodwood was great even if it far from reached the Goodwood standard. Plenty of the participants had dressed for the occasion and there was a good crowd. The event organizers had managed to get Ian Titchmarsh and Gunnar Fridlund as race commentators with Rickard Rydell as paddock commentator these made up for a great team and did a very good job keeping the crowd up to date with what was happening on the track.
Hans had put in an tremendous effort to make the most of Team Lotus and to make a good weekend for his sponsors Kenths work wear and Ford dealer Bil Månsson.
Hans had put some new livery on the car now making it yellow/green with Team Lotus script on the side. It will be hard to decide if I'm going to keep it that way or going back to my yellow/blue livery. Our team won the Concourse de charme award for best team.
Friday practice went well and Hans started to feel more comfortable in the car and after some minor adjustments to brake balance he was confident for the saturday qualifying.
Hans had qualified 6th and in the 1st race on Saturday Hans did an excellent start gaining 2 places straight away, however after a couple of laps he had to give up on those and finished 6 in the heat and first in class G
The 2nd race on Sunday was much of a copy of the first race with another good start and a battle for 5th, 6th place during the start of the race before finishing 5th and another 1st in class.

2014-05-10:
I have decided to let Hans Nordén hire the car for the first race at Knutstorp Revival. The first test for the season went well. Hans did one stint at the test and I did 2 stints with reasonable times at low 1.07 and everything worked well.
I have put the Lotus aside and started to work on the RF85 to fix the issues from Falkenberg last year. I need to replace a wishbone and the bell house/oil tank which I found a new on e-bay.
So far the bell house and gearbox are installed.

The Alpina is sold!
The Lotus 61 is back in the garage and I'm almost done with the winter service. First practice will be at Knutstorp on the 27th of April. As it looks now I doubt that I will be able to find a suitable race abroad to attend this season..
2014-02-02:
Next year's calendar is not finalized.
Unfortunately there will be no FF1600 at this years Silverstone Classic so I will try to visit another event abroad that hosts a FF1600 pre-72 heat.
